Invited by the 3353 team, curator Katia Leonelli proposes a project in collaboration with the artistic collective Nearest Pond. Starting from the observation that it is often difficult to ensure in-depth curatorial follow-up during the preparation of an exhibition, this residency is conceived as an opportunity for close collaboration between the artists and the curator. The residency is structured around weekly meetings, conceived as “augmented” studio visits: they last longer, take place more frequently, and are followed by discussions around current readings, a film screening, or a visit to an exhibition. The readings are connected to the practices of both the artists and the curator. The overall methodology makes it possible to deepen artistic and curatorial practices grounded in research, as these practices feed into and inform one another.
